Monthly Obsessions: January 2017

ALOHA FRIENDS!  It's my first Monthly Obsessions of 2017 and I'm so excited that I have new products to talk about this time!

I haven't posted a Monthly Obsessions since September 2016, so since then I've been able to try out a lot of new products!  Also, sorry I haven't been really taking my own photos of products, I've honestly been lazy because taking photos and transferring them to my computer, then editing them is so much work for me lol.  Hopefully I'll get my ish together and start taking my own pictures again but until then, I hope you don't mind!  I'm also trying not new post layouts and stuff, like more gifs and whatnot, because gifs are fun right?  Anywayz, let's get started!

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rose Gold
Okay so first and foremost, this shadow stick is ROSE GOLD.  Y'all know how much I love me some rose gold.  Secondly, it is seriously the BEST shadow stick I've ever used.  It's sooooo pigmented and easy to blend, looks good by itself all over the lid, or in your inner corner, like what I use it for.  I received this in my November 2016 PLAY! by Sephora box and haven't stopped using it ever since and will definitely be buying the full size once I run out.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette
I've been trying to get my hands on this palette for MONTHS and I FINALLY HAVE IT!  I've had it in my possession since around Christmas (because I bought it as a lil Christmas present for myself lol) and it's been one of the only palettes I've been using.  The shadows are so buttery and beautifully pigmented.  The one thing about it though, is that not every color is good for everyone, but I'd expect that with any eyeshadow palette.  The brighter magentas and more orangey colors don't really work for me, but I'm sure I'll find other uses for them, like on my friends or something.  That being said, was this EXTREMELY hyped up palette worth the $42 I spent on it?  Absolutely!

Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I feel like face primer is a product that is okay to skip about 95% of the time.  I'm not saying that I don't use it though, which is why this amazing MUFE primer made it onto this month's obsessions.  It smooths out my skin, making it a smooth base for flawless foundation.  Because it has a matte finish, I like to use it under dewy foundations to avoid looking shiny after a few hours, which ALWAYS happens to me, but since using this primer, I noticed it takes longer for my oiliness to reveal itself.  This is another PLAY! by Sephora deluxe sample from the December 2016 box, and I'll absolutely be purchasing the full size when I use it all up.  OH also, it smells really good!  I'm never usually one for products that have a scent, especially if it's going on my face, but this primer has a light, pleasant scent.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop
You're probably thinking, "omg Caitlyn, you're so late to the Champagne Pop game," and I KNOW.  I never really had the opportunity to get it, or the interest to get it at first, but when I was in Sephora last month and saw they only had one more left, I thought it was fate.  BOY am I glad I got my hands on it because now I understand what the heck everyone is raving about.  This highlighter is GORGEOUS.  I loved my Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector, but Champagne Pop is on another level. It's my new everyday/all the time highlighter.

NARS Blush in Orgasm
Now you're probably thinking, "r u srs rn Caitlyn... you're jUST NOW TRYING THIS???" and noooo, I'm not JUST NOW trying this, but I'm JUST NOW falling in love.  I got this blush back in June 2016 and haven't really used it since because y'all know how much I love my Benefit Rockateur. Welllllllll, my Rockateur blush BROKE and I'm devastated, but I needed to replace it with something else, which is why I reached for Orgasm.  I LOVE IT GUYS.  It's so pretty because it has a slight shimmer, which is what I usually look for in a blush, and you can go light or heavy-handed depending on your look, without overdoing it.  It's perfection, but does it replace my Rockateur?  NO way, I'm still broken inside, just like my Rockateur.

Lime Crime Matte Velvetines in Cindy and Beet It
Cindy / Beet It
It's been established that I am a liquid lippie junkie, and after I found these Lime Crime lippies, my life has not been the same.  These lippies are so incredibly pigmented and having THE BEST staying power of all my lippies, like I literally ate super greasy foods, drank lots of stuff, and my lips looked just as amazing as right after I applied my lipstick.  I was super skeptical of Lime Crime products because there was some controversy a while ago about the company, I don't remember what happened, so please don't ask me lol, but after I received these lippies as a gift, I literally could not care about what I read before, because they are beyond amazing.  Cindy was a featured lippie in my Holiday Steal My Look 2016, so check out that post if you'd like to see it on me!

Laneige Brightening Kit
If you read my Skincare Routine, you'd know that I'm super obsessed with Laneige skincare producst right now; like so obsessed that 90% of the products I use are Laneige.  That being said, instead of writing about each product I'm in love with, I found this set that comes with every Laneige product I love, minus the toner.  All the products featured in this set I own and use myself everyday, and are products I absolutely love and cannot live without anymore, so really recommend this set if you just want to try out all the Laneige skincare that I'm obsessed with!

The Estée Edit Dissolve the Drama 2-in-1 Makeup Remover and Cleanser
What a long name... but a seriously amazing product!  I got this cleansing oil in my very first PLAY! by Sephora box - October 2016 - and have been using it nonstop ever since.  I use it as step one to my double cleansing routine and it actually dissolves the layers of makeup, including eye makeup, that i have on.  It doesn't leave a filmy feeling after, which is good if you're not into double cleansing, but I still always double cleanse.  It is on the pricey side however, so I don't think I'll buy the full size because I know there are comparable cleansing oils out there for less, but it was really nice to try, and if I ever had the extra money laying around (hahahah ya right), I probably wouldn't mind splurging.

Tarte FRIXXXTION Stick Exfoliating Cleanser
I did not feature this product in my Skincare Routine, but it is a product that I've been trying out the past few weeks.  I got it in my January 2017 PLAY! by Sephora box and I honestly love it.  It dried out my skin at first, but I also blame the cold af weather.  After using more, I think it does a really great job removing makeup and cleaning my pores.  The stick form is interesting and I don't really see how it's sanitary, because like bar soap, I anticipate it would be prone to attracting and growing bacteria, but ya know, I'd still use it because it did a good job cleansing my skin lol.  Like the Estée edit cleanser though, it's pricey and I'd probably only buy the full size if I had the extra money to spend, but I do really enjoy using it whilst I have it!

essie Nail Polish in Lady Like
So a little background story... I had a nail polish for a while that I absolutely loved.  It was my favorite and I basically used it every time I painted my nails for a while.  One day, I ran out of it and went to the store to get a new bottle, only to discover that they no longer make that color... So of course, you know I was ded inside.  I searched high and low for another color that looks similar but came out with nothing, until one day, I was perusing through Pinterest and saw Lady Like.  I had to do a double take because I swear it was my favorite polish, but it wasn't.  Long story short, I bought Lady Like and it's basically the same color, just a tiny bit darker.  I love it and hope I never have to part ways unexpectedly with it.  RIP old fave nail polish.

Sugarfina Yes Way Rosé Gummies
I feel like it's been a while since I've included a food in my Monthly Obsessions, but it's honestly because there hasn't been anything that I've been super crazy about until now.  I got these gummies for Christmas from my parents and I'm so in love with them.  I've tried Sugarfina's Champagne Bears before and thought they were good, but these are 10000000x better.  They're gorgeous little roses that you'll feel bad eating, but they taste amazing and you feel super fancy while you're eating them. They're made with Whispering Angel Rosé, but they're alcohol free (it doesn't make sense???) so anyone can enjoy them!  They have another rosé gummy called "But First, Rosé" and I'm not sure what the difference is, but I'm sure they're just as yummy! (Sorry that the link is for the latter mentioned gummies, I couldn't find the original ones :/)

GOT7 - MAD Winter Edition
So this album is like a year old I know... but because it was just the holidays, it's literally the one album I've had on repeat.  I've been listening to the Winter Edition specifically because of the three songs featured that are not on the regular version of the album, "고백송 (Confession Song)", "매일 (Everyday)," and "이.별 (To. Star)".  Those three songs are probably my favorite GOT7 songs of all time because y'all know I'm a sucker for cute sappy songs.  Anyways, I will literally listen to this album everyday of my life even if it's not winter.  ALSO!!! GOT7 announced their comeback with what will probably be the final piece of the Flight Log era, Flight Log: Arrival for March 2017, so if I don't post at all in March, it's probably because I'm dead.  (jokes)
Purchase MAD Winter Edition on iTunes!

And there are all my Monthly Obsessions for January 2017!  It's a lot right?  My fingers are tired from typing... I hope this fun for you to read and hopefully you came across a few products, goodies, or music you have tried or listened to yet!  I leave you again with a gif of my bby boi Mark, doing this thing to me called MURDER.

With Love,
Caitlyn <3
