PLAY! by Sephora: September 2017 Box

Aloha Friends!  I told you I'd be back... And I'm back with one of my favorite posts to write every month... September's PLAY! by Sephora box!

As you all know, PLAY! boxes are the best because I get to try lots of new products that I wouldn't necessarily purchase myself from Sephora (though I do have a couple of the things featured in this month's box lol).  I always recommend the PLAY! box to people who are looking for a beauty subscription box because you get six high end products, versus maybe one or two high end products, and other drugstore products from other beauty subscription boxes.  If you'd like to get yourself a PLAY! box, check out this link (I don't get anything if you click it or if you sign up!) to check if there are spots open and start getting beautified!  But for now, let's get into the box!

September's box is themed "Fall Into Beauty" which is perfectly fitting since Autumn is right around the corner, or it already started, it depends on when you're reading this.  The products featured in this month's box were catered for Fall beauty and skincare regimens!

"Brow and Forever"
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Deep
It's no secret on this blog that Gimme Brow is one of my favorite brow products, and if you didn't know, you can read about why I love it here!  Gimme Brow is a volumizing, water-resistant fiber gel that "mimics the look of real hair to create thick, lush-looking brows".  It's perfect for days you don't want to do your full brow routine, but still want a clean, filled look, or even for days when you do fill your brows and just want them to look a little fuller and more natural!

"Your Partner in Line"
Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12 HR Wear Waterproof in Black Lace
This eyeliner pencil is creamy and easy to apply.  It claims to be long-lasting as well as waterproof too!  I can honestly vouch for this eyeliner because I had it a few years ago and I loved it so much. I'm not a huge pencil liner user, but this liner is seriously long-lasting and waterproof.  Not to forget to mention that it's super affordable compared to other great (and not-so-great) pencil liners that Sephora has to offer.

"On the Night Side"
Algenist POWER Recharging Night Pressed Serum
This highly concentrated serum is made with Alguronic Acid, which is "a powerful chemical compound that occurs in microalgae and helps to regenerate and protect the skin".  If you're a return reader, you know that I'm obsessed with skincare, so when I saw this in the both, I was super excited. Then however, my excited slighted dwindled when I smelled it and found that it's pretty perfume-y, and we all know how I'm super particular about the way a product smells.  The smell aside, I'm excited to try it because I've never tried a pressed serum before - it's essentially a serum in balm form, that melts as it warms into your skin -and it seems really interesting to use!

"A Matte Made in Heaven"
Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Amulet
A liquid lippie!  My favorite!!!  Urban Decay's liquid lipsticks are incredible, and this "satin-matte", or as UD calls it, a "comfort matte", is a brick rose color which is perfect for Fall.  It's super long-lasting and intensely pigmented.  I was honestly so disappointed that this was in the box because I already redeemed points for it like three Sephora orders ago lol.  I do love the color though; it has a sliiiiight shimmer, but not enough to make your lips look glittery.  I really recommend UD's Vice Liquid Lipsticks to an liquid lippie lovers because they are super pigmented and literally do not budge.  Backtalk is my favorite color in the range!

"A Cream Come True"
Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb
"Refreshing gel-cream formula drenches skin in a burst of cooling, light-as-a-feather moisture".  I was so so soooo excited to see this in this month's box because I had a tiny little sample packet of this moisturizer AND I WAS IN LOVE.  I prefer gel-cream moisturizers over cream moisturizers, because they are cooling and overall just feel better on the skin, and this moisturizer is SO GOOD. It's lightweight which makes it really great for wearing under makeup!

This Month's Bonus! "On Again, Soft Again"
Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
"A multitasking, hydrating conditioner and shampoo duo that takes dry, course, frizzy hair to touchably soft, silky, and detangled".  It's infused with argan oil, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, sweet almond oil, safflower seed oil, and grapeseed oil.  To be very honest, this shampoo and conditioner scares me because I have super oily hair, and using and oil based products seems like it would be dangerous, though I did hear that if you're oily you should use oils, but IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT.  Anyways, I'm not sure I'll use it, I'll sleep on it and let you know what I decide to do lol.

And that is everything that was in this month's PLAY! by Sephora box!  This box wasn't too impressive to me to be honest.  I have or have tried majority of the products featured this month, but you win some, you lose some.  I'm just glad there was no perfume sample this month, because I never use them, or even smell them.

As always, thanks so much for reading!!!

With Love,

Cat Reviews: BiBimBox Korea - EXO Box

ALOHA FRIENDS! Oh my god it's been so long since I've blogged and I'm so sorry!  With school starting up again, and with work, it's been so tough to find time to blog, but I finally have like two seconds to write!  Today's post is so overdue, because I've had it in my possession for so long, and that is... the EXO BiBimBox!

If you're not familiar with BiBimBox Korea, it's basically a K-Pop subscription box that you can buy and cancel anytime.  They offer EXO, BTS, and a Gold box that features a different artist every month.  The boxes range from $35-$40 and you get to pick which member you get specific merch for. That's the gist of it, for more info about it, check out BiBimBox Korea's website or read my review of the GOT7 Gold Box I got a while back!  But now to the review...

This time I received the EXO box, which of course I was so excited for because you all know that I'm an EXO-L.  I specified that I wanted Chanyeol (duh) and my box came several weeks later!  This review is going to be similar to how I reviewed the GOT7 box, I'll review each item individually, share links on where you can get similar items, and then review the box overall.  So without further ado... this is what I got in the box!

The first item is a t-shirt with Chanyeol's face on it.  I honestly don't like it.  I kind of expected something a little more subtle, like something I could wear out without people staring at me, but this was literally from the opposite end of the spectrum.  It's cute, just not something I can wear out.  The quality is what you'd expect it to be, not thaaaat great, and it's a little bit too small, which is why BiBimBox recommends sizing 1-2 sizes up when you buy.  It was a pretty disappointing item, and I honestly haven't worn it at all other than to try it on. [GET THE SAME T-SHIRT HERE]

The next item was a gold cuff bracelet.  It looks SUPER FANCY in the box and it's actually pretty cute.  The quality isn't the greatest - I was afraid that if I were to try to expand it a little when putting it on my wrist, it would snap in half, but thank god for my skinny wrists.  It's such a deceiving little bracelet tbh.  You think it's just a plain gold cuff, but then when you look closely, you can see the EXO logo and "EXO-LOVE" burned(???) into the sides of it.  Overall, I do really like it and it is something I'll probably wear! [GET THE SAME BRACELET HERE]

The next thing in the box was a Lay photocard.  Stab me in the heart and twist the knife right??? Anyways, there honestly isn't anything special about it and I almost didn't even see it in the box.  This photocard is from the Lucky One era, but be mistaken, it's not official, it's just a lomo card.  It will go into my photocard book, so that's cool I guess. [GET THE SAME PHOTOCARD HERE (sold in a pack of 30 plus other members!)]

The last item in this box was this phone ring.  I was excited to see this in the box because I've been wanting to get a phone ring for a while, I just never got around to finding one, AND NOW I HAVE AN EXO ONE!  BUT of course, all good things must come to and end because it was BROKEN. YA BROKEN.  The ring part came off the center sticky part before I even took it out of the package and now I'm sad because I can't use it lol. [GET A SIMILAR PHONE RING HERE (but there are cuter ones all over eBay! Just search "EXO phone ring". Hopefully yours won't come broken]

And that was it, just those four items, which I'm not complaining about because we all saw the KoreaBox debacle...  But overall, I was pretty disappointed with this box.  The shirt is a personal preference, which I understand, I can't complain about that, but the measly photocard and broken phone ring were pretty disappointing, but both were also cute, and I definitely would've loved the phone ring had it not been broken.  The cuff bracelet was definitely the winner of this box.  It's not the greatest quality, but it's actually wearable, and you best bet I'll be wearing it around.  Just to mention, just because I didn't enjoy what I got in my box, doesn't mean all the boxes will be disappointing.  I liked (almost) everything that came in my GOT7 box a few month's back, and the boxes change every month, so you probably won't get any of the things I got in my box, or at least not this entire combination.  That being said, don't be afraid to give BiBimBox Korea a try if you haven't already!  If you don't like your first box, you can always cancel, and if you love it, you can continue receiving them!  They have great customer service and I wouldn't say this one not so great box define my experience with BiBimBox Korea, because like with every mystery-type box, you can't guarantee that you'll like everything.

As always, thanks so much for reading!  I'm so sorry I haven't written in a while, but I have tons of posts lined up for you guys so keep those peepers peeled!

With Love,
