Cat Reviews: NCT 127 - NCT #127 Cherry Bomb - The Physical Album

Aloha Friends!  As I promised a few posts again, I'm back with an overview of the physical version of NCT 127's new album, Cherry Bomb! (Click here to listen to Cherry Bomb while you read!)

I received this album on my birthday - but not for my birthday, I bought it myself lol - so I've had it for almost two weeks, sorry.  I've had some problems with taking photos of it, which I will explain later on, but I finally got around to it so I can share it with you!  I bought my album on Amazon for $25, and it's available at plenty of other places as well, but I found that Amazon had the best price and 2 day shipping (because I have Prime).  I don't recommend group ordering via Twitter if you want it to get to you quickly, but more on that in my GOT7 album overviews coming soon! (P.S. sorry that most of the photos/gifs I'm including are of Jaehyun... I like him a lot and I can't control myself)

So like I mentioned in my album review, the cover of Cherry Bomb is literal cherry bombs, like cherries blowing up.  It's interesting and I guess it goes with the whole concept.  The back cover is pretty much exactly the same.  The cover is similar to a hardcover book with a slight silicone feeling. Most of the cherries on the front and back covers are glossy, unlike the rest of the cover which is just matte. *You can click on each photo to enlarge it for a better viewing experience!*

The album opens up like a book and on the left is the CD and on the right is the photobook.  This album includes lots of 8-bit art and cherry babies (??), and as you can see on the CD and front of the photobook, there is a cherry baby exploding out of an 8-bit volcano and being shot out of guns (???) as well as 8-bit NCT 127 members.  Honestly, the cherry babies freak me out a little, but ya know whatevs.

The photobook includes NCT 127 photos, group and individual, lyrics and credits.  Below are a few of my favorite pages from the photobook.

One thing interesting about this photobook is that towards the back, the photos start to layer, so for example, in the photo below, you see Jaehyun's photo on top of Mark's photo which is on top of WinWin's photo which is on top of Taeyong's photo that you can't see at all.  It layers a few more times before starting again with different photos.  It's something different but I don't know if I really like it??
One thing worth mentioning is that in the song credits, it includes the original title of each song and the original title of 0 Mile was Dirty Mind.  That had me shook so I had to show you lol.

Lastly, the album came with a one of two different posters and a member's photocard.  I got the version of the poster that I wanted, which is shown below, but I couldn't take a photo of my actual poster because it came folded, which I was fine with, but I tried to flatten the creases and hang it, but I couldn't get the creases out and then I discovered that it was way too big for the area I wanted to put it...  For reference, the poster is about 3 feet wide and 2 feet long.  Idk what the metric measurements are because I'm American and America doesn't teach us the metric system...  I also got Haechan's (Donghyuck) photocard which I'm not mad at.  I was fine with getting anyone (except WinWin, Doyoung, or Johnny but don't get mad at me or ask me why), even though I really wanted Jaehyun, but I haven't had the best luck with photocards in the past.  HOWEVER I did get an EXO album recently and got Chanyeol's photocard and Baekhyun's postcard and then I died so that's cool.

front / back
And that is all of the album!  It came with an advert booklet and a few other loose advert-type papers, but nothing that is worth showing you.  Overall I really liked this album and found the concept really interesting.  It's nice to see that NCT 127 isn't trying to stick with one type of style or concept because all (three lol) of their albums have been really different so far.

As always, thanks so much for reading!  Check out the links below for more Cherry Bomb fun!

With Love,
Caitlyn <3
