Monthly Obsessions: May & June 2017

Alooooha Friends!  I took last week off from blogging because it was my birthweek, but I'm back now with the much overdue, Monthly Obsessions from May and June 2017!
This MO's post will be the longest yet, but between May and June, I had to opportunity to test out lots of new products as well as rediscover a few lost loves.  So buckle up and grab yourself a snack, you'll be here for a while... Let's get started!

Soap & Glory One Heck of A Blot Primer
This primer was recommended to me by one of my friends and I searched for it FOREVER until finally I was at Target at like 8 in the morning for no reason and found that they had ONE in stock. You best believe I swooped it up so quick and OH MY GOD I LOVE IT SO MUCH.  I've always has problems with my nose getting oily after a few hours and was looking for a primer that could keep that problem at bay and THIS. IS. IT.  It's super lightweight and scent-free which is great because there's nothing worse than heavy feeling, smelly stuff on your face.  It's also pretty affordable, it's only $11.99 at Target and $14 at Ulta (but ya girl is Chinese so of course I recommend buying it at Target :])  The only problem I have with it is that I wish it was a little stickier because I prefer stickier primers since they make your foundation stay on a little better, but overall this is a 4.5/5 primer for me and I really recommend it!

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer Wand in CW03 Light
I've used lots of different concealers and like with every other makeup product, I've been looking for one that's just right for me, then one day I was watching ThatsHeart's video where she was trying out different NYX products.  She used this concealer and compared it to Urban Decay's Naked Skin concealer which I've tried and loved, so I decided to try this NYX one out AND I LOVE IT.  It's perfect for under eye because it's formula is not to thick but just enough to make you look awake and healthy.  It's also SUPER affordable and has a pretty wide range of colors including shades for color correcting.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt
I got this scrub in my May 2017 PLAY! box and wrote about it already in my last PLAY! by Sephora overview where you can read my full review, but to give you a brief summary, I love love LOVE this scrub so much.  It really cleans my hair and leaves it super soft.  The only thing about this scrub that I don't like is the price tag.  It's $53 and just writing that makes me want to throw up, but even thought the price tag makes me sick, I'll still probably purchase the full sized when I finish the pot I have now.

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner
I've had this eyeliner for literally like 4 years and even though I should probably get a new one, I'm glad I found it in my drawer because it's amazing.  I love gel liner but hate how inconvenient it can be to use so I looooove and appreciate so much that this liner has a gel formula but comes in a more convenient pen.  It's super black and the slanted tip draws the perfect wing.  The reason I stopped using it is because it dries in the pen really quickly and I found that I ended up wasting a lot of product because it flaked out of the tube when it got too dry.  It's also on the pricier side and to be honest I don't think I'd buy it again but like I said I'm glad I found it in my drawer so I can use it while I still have it.

e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator in Cherry Tart
I've never tried lip exfoliator before because a wet toothbrush always did the trick for me, until this summer when I forgot sunscreen on my lips and my lips got sooooo dry and gross that the toothbrush just didn't do it anymore.  I found this e.l.f. lip exfoliator at Target where it was also available in brown sugar and mint flavors, but I decided to go with cherry because (even though I hate cherry flavored things) I was on a cherry kick since Cherry Bomb (see below) came out.  This exfoliator works really well.  It's harsh enough to do the job, but gentle enough to not leave your lips feeling sore.  It's also only like $3 I think, and that's enough for me.

e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls
I'd been hearing about this highlighter for so long and could never find it in stores.  Of course as usual, I got lucky and found the last one in stock at Target and had to buy it.  I love how this highlighter can go on sheer or build up for a blinding highlight.  I learned from reading about this highlighter that it's best to scrape off the top layer when you first buy it because if you don't, the top layer will give you streaky, powder swatches - it's true, I tried it.  This highlighter is a popular dupe for theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer but I also think it could be a great dupe for Urban Decay's Afterglow highlighter in Sin.  Either way, try to get your hands on it and I promise you'll fall in love with it, don't hold me to it though if you don't love it...  I know it looks pinkish in the first two photos but it's not!!!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Yeyo
Here's another eyeliner that I've had in my collection for YEARS but also haven't used in YEARS. This 24/7 liner and their liner in Zero were my very first Urban Decay products EVER and boy did I get it right.  I use this liner to brighten up my lower waterline, especially when I'm wearing a darker eye look.  This liner never fails me and stays put even though my eyes can get really dry and require eye drops but are also pretty watery (#contactlenselyfe).  It does it jobs, it sticks to it's claims, I love it.  (Sorry my pencil looks so gross... Like I said, I've had it for years lol)

Urban Decay Afterglow Powder Blush in Rapture
ANOTHER product that's been in my collection for a while but I've fallen in love with again.  I bought this blush a few years back because I loved Urban Decay's Revolution lipstick in Rapture, so when I saw they made a blush in the same shade, I knew I had to buy it.  These blushes are super pigmented so a little goes a long way, which is why I could have the same blush compact for so long and I've used it pretty often.  Not until recently did I start using it exclusively.  I love this blush formula so much that I also got one today in Fetish, so look out for it in coming MO's!

Wet n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Rebel Rose
I don't even remember how I heard of these liquid lipsticks but I found it at Target and immediately purchased one in Rebel Rose.  I love the feeling of this lippie because even though it dries matte, it feels as though you're wearing nothing on your lips.  The color is super long-wearing - it lasted through an entire sushi meal and more.  Wet n Wild has been one of my favorite beauty brands since I started wearing makeup some 8 years ago, but many of their products are hits or misses, but this lippie is definitely a huge hit.  They're only $5 too so check them out!

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
I got this exfoliating treatment in my April 2017 PLAY! box but I've also tried this before.  I love it so much because it leaves my skin feeling super smooth and glowing.  Like I mentioned in my April 2017 PLAY! overview post, the cinnamon smells initially worried me because I was afraid it would burn, and since it was a product you have to let sit on your face, I was super scared, but it doesn't burn AT ALL. I usually use this in the shower and then throw on a pore strip, and noticed that the pore strip pulled out more gunk than usual.  It's EXPENSIVE AS HELL, coming in at $175 for 5 oz, but for $24, you can get half an ounce lol.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecter Spotlight Wand in Opal
I've mentioned BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfecters so many times on this blog that you're probably sick of hearing about it, but it's different this time!!! I promise!!!  This time, I'm here to tell you about the liquid version of the shimmering skin perfecters.  I got this in a set with the pressed powder version, available at Sephora, but haven't really used it too much, but I've recently been super into mixing it into my foundation to get a glowy finish instead of my usual matte finish and I love it so much that I've bought a few other mix-in mediums to try out.  The one thing I don't like about it is the smell.  It's not that it smells bad or anything, but I just don't like the smell - you'd have to smell it to understand.  Unfortunately, they don't sell the wand version outside of the set, but you can buy it in a bottle or tube here.

NCT 127 - NCT #127 Cherry Bomb - The Third Mini Album
I'm not going to write much for this album because I wrote a comprehensive review that you can read here.  But I love this album so much, not only because I love NCT, but because it's honestly just really, really, REALLY good.  There is not one bad song, but it's full of nonsensical English, and anyone who knows me knows I LOVE nonsensical English.  You'll have to read my review to find out more!
Listen to Cherry Bomb on Spotify!

And those are my Monthly Obsessions for May and June 2017!  I hope you enjoyed this really long post - it took me a really long time to write lol.  I'll try my best not to be lazy and to post more often, but ya know iM LAZY SO.

As always, thanks for reading!

With Love,
Caitlyn <3
